On November 22nd Year 7 and year 8 went to San Daniele del Friuli to visit the Guarneriana Library, one of the first public reading institutions in Italy.

After a brief visit to the historic centre, the children entered the Guarneriana and were guided to its discovery by Angelo Floramo, former director of the library and expert journalist. The final goal was to learn about the origins of the book and its history, from the Middle Ages to the present day, and to analyze the development of a small medieval city centre.

The group then moved to the banks of the Tagliamento river, near Ragogna, to eat a packed lunch and to take a look at one of the few European waterways that still flows in its natural bed!
