On December 3rd all students from Middle School met with a guide from the Monfalcone WW1 Park to delve deeper into some aspects of the First World War.

After a general overview of the conflict, he discussed in greater detail the “Christmas Truce” and how it was experienced on the Italian Karst front. The guide shared anecdotes about the lives of soldiers in the trenches, how they were recruited and how they communicated with relatives back home.

In the end the students had also the opportunity to observe up close some significant artifacts from the specific historical period!
