During the visit they were given excerpts from “The Merchant of Venice”, written by William Shakespeare, which the students had to “interpret” in significant places of the city, such as the Jewish ghetto an the Rialto Bridge. In addition to the use of the English language and the practice of acting, other topics pertaining civic education were discussed, such as religious discrimination, friendship and justice.

One of the objective was also to visit the locations described in Shakespeare’s story, in order to discover its story, its treasures and their characteristics.
