The aim was to <strong>discover places and events<\/strong> narrated or occured throughout the history of the Serenissima, which were already discussed in class.<\/p>\n<p>During the visit they were given excerpts from <strong>&#8220;The Merchant of Venice&#8221;<\/strong>, written by <strong>William Shakespeare<\/strong>, which the students had to &#8220;interpret&#8221; in significant places of the city, such as the Jewish ghetto an the Rialto Bridge. In addition to the <strong>use of the English language and the practice of acting<\/strong>, other topics pertaining civic education were discussed, such as <strong>religious discrimination, friendship and justice<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>One of the objective was also to <strong>visit the locations described in Shakespeare&#8217;s story<\/strong>, in order to discover its story, its treasures and their characteristics.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On May 7th the students of Year 8 visited the city of Venice as part of their History, English Literature and Drama curriculums.
