A new project divided into three different stages starts today for our Year 8 students, in collaboration with Coop Alleanza, dedicated to gender identity and the prejudices that end up influencing the “construction” of our identity as men and women. Two meetings will take place at school and one at a Coop supermarket.

A society that wants to define itself as free must give all individuals the opportunity to develop their identity in a correct and harmoniuous way. Gender identity is the first and most important of the differences, as it allows the development of society itslef and to achieve real equal opportunities between men and women.

The aim of the project is to recognize the problem of social and cultural conditioning that limits gender equality, to recognize stereotypes and prejudices, to promote solidarity. This will be done through the analysis of magazines, adventisements, clips from television programs and consumer goods.
